About Dr Norton
Dr. Michael Norton, a diagnostic radiologist well-respected in Northern California for his expertise in breast imaging, and received his medical degree at UCLA followed by a residency and fellowship in radiological sciences at the same institution. As medical director of Radiological Associates of Sacramento’s Breast Imaging section, Dr. Norton has played a critical role in bringing the most advanced breast cancer detection tools to the region.
Under his leadership, RAS was the first radiology practice in the greater Sacramento region to introduce stereotactic breast biopsy, ultrasound guided breast biopsy, breast MRI, MRI guided breast biopsy and computer aided detection. Dr. Norton has been with RAS since 1982 and has held leadership positions within RAS and in the Sacramento medical community. He is a former president of RAS and has served on numerous medical committees and boards. He currently serves as Director of Breast Imaging services for RAS and frequently speaks at local breast conferences.
Dr. Norton is a champion of early breast cancer detection and urges women to comply with ACS including annual screening mammography for women over 40.
