Why Are Screening Mammogram Numbers Decreasing?
Q: Do I need to see my regular doctor before I schedule my appointment?
A:You can schedule your mammogram online before you see your regular doctor, however you must have a doctor's order -- referral -- at the time of your appointment. This referral can be faxed to our office by your provider or you can bring it with you to RAS on the day of your mammogram.
Q: How do I know if I'm at risk of developing Breast Cancer?
A: The National Cancer Institute recently designed a Breast Cancer Risk Assessment Tool to help women estimate their risk of developing invasive breast cancer. We recommend that you visit http://www.cancer.gov/bcrisktool/Default.aspx. We encourage you to discuss the results and your personal risk of breast cancer with your doctor. Please keep in mind that there are many factors that may also affect risk and are not accounted for by the tool.
I had a mammogram appointment at your Breast Imaging Center location on L Street. I was so impressed by the customer service during my visit. The coffee, water and freshly baked cookies were quite the treat. Your staff seemed well-trained and understood the importance of keeping people informed. Also, I noticed the facility was very clean and the staff clearly cared about their work, environment and customers. Thanks! — Tracie, Sacramento
